THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
- Assists with real estate transactions from inception to closing, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, and loans
- Manages and coordinates due diligence reviews
- Conducts title and survey review
- Coordinates escrow activities
- Obtains and reviews reports, including surveys and UCC searches
- Reviews leases, service contracts, and management contracts
- Searches county land records and tax assessment databases to obtain information on ownership, lenders, existing liens, and easements
- Creates closing checklists, prepares and reviews executable closing documents, and monitors post-closing items
- Drafts necessary correspondence and assists with the preparation of other documents as required
- Coordinates with service companies to obtain client organizational documents, such as good standing certificates, articles of formation, and certificates of incorporation
- Drafts lease amendments and summaries
- Performs other tasks as assigned by practice group or paralegal management, including opportunities to work on pro bono matters
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1-3 years of commercial real estate paralegal experience
- Willingness and flexibility to work overtime, occasionally on short notice
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and track extensive details
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and all levels of personnel, and to handle confidential information sensitively and discreetly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative, diplomacy, and tact under pressure
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
