Our client, a privately held, extremely well-funded research and development company, seeks their first legal leader to head up the contracts and alliance group that provides business, contracts, and intellectual property support for the company's external collaboration and internal research activities. This role reports to the C-level business leader and will manage a team of two.
You will collaborate closely with scientists, academic and industry partners, and internal teams such as Senior Leadership, Alliance Management, and Finance to ensure seamless agreement execution and alignment with corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and negotiate various agreements, such as sponsored research agreements, licenses, CDAs, material transfer agreements, master services agreements, consulting agreements, software agreements and related amendments.
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Alliance Management, Finance, and project teams, to support our client's corporate goals.
Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required (Ph.D. or JD preferred).
Experience:
- 8 plus years of contract negotiation/management within research-focused healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated experience managing intellectual property portfolios in collaboration with legal/IP counsel.
- Leadership experience managing a contracts team (preferred).
