Director of Practice Operations (Litigation)

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY

  • Collaborate with Global Business Leaders and Practice Group Leaders to develop and implement strategies aligned with business unit goals and Firm initiatives.

  • Facilitate the professional growth of non-partner timekeepers by ensuring equitable work opportunities and coordinating talent management efforts.

  • Oversee timekeeper capacity management, support staff functions, and standardized processes across offices to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Develop and lead training programs in IT, Business Development, and interpersonal skills to enhance professional development.

  • Partner with internal teams to implement innovative strategies that enhance client service through technology and process improvements.

  • Provide monthly performance reports and collaborate on pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge and improve client service.

  • Work closely with Human Resources and Office Administrators on employee relations matters, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

BACKGROUND PROFILE

  • Experience as an attorney, timekeeper, or law firm manager required.

  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory role within a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and guide diverse teams in a fast-paced legal setting.

  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and project management skills to ensure process efficiency.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with attorneys, business professionals, and Firm leadership.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, numerical analysis, and the ability to leverage technology to improve operational effectiveness.

  • Flexibility to travel if needed.
